This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and prepare schedules to support external financial filings for The Allstate Corporation and its subsidiaries, including SEC/GAAP and NAIC/Statutory reporting.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, which involve preparing journal entries and addressing reporting issues.
• Conduct financial, statistical, and trend analyses to detect unusual results, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings.
• Compile information, schedules, and supporting analyses for investment-related external disclosures.
• Analyze and report financial, capital, and operational data for management reporting and informed business decision-making.
• Aid in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and materials for executive-level audiences.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to collect information, resolve reporting inquiries, and ensure financial accuracy.
• Utilize accounting principles and financial concepts in reporting, reconciliation, and analytical tasks.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvement and participate in projects aimed at enhancing reporting efficiency, controls, and data quality.
• Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with established controls, timelines, and compliance standards.
• Provide support for ad hoc analyses, special projects, and various business initiatives.
• 0-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, investments, analytics, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and precision.
• Capability to interpret financial data, recognize trends, and investigate variances.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting and analysis tools.
• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• No specific educational credential required, although a bachelor's degree is not stated.
• Completion of a background investigation is necessary.
