This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Report directly to the Manager of Canada Exploration.
• Assist with SSR’s Au-Cu exploration initiatives and collaborate with various departments within the company.
• Plan and monitor exploration activities, generate targets, log and sample, map, interpret models, ensure compliance with HSEC standards, perform QA/QC, and prepare reports.
• Aid in the implementation of drilling programs and coordinate with technicians.
• Strategically plan and conduct field activities with a focus on safety.
• Execute geological field mapping tasks.
• Perform geological and geotechnical drill-core logging.
• Analyze assay results and compile reports.
• Engage in weekly and monthly safety meetings and presentations.
• Enforce procedures within the exploration department.
• Validate QA/QC measures in field sampling and drilling operations.
• Assess exploration activities to ensure safety standards are met.
• Create and update maps using ESRI ArcPRO and maintain a GIS database.
• Prepare and file assessment reports.
• Participate in exercises to identify prospective exploration areas.
• Utilize GPS navigation to accurately locate and mark sampling and data points during fieldwork.
• Enter logging and assay data into Leapfrog to aid in the generation of geological models.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology.
• 3–5 years of experience in exploration is required.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in a multicultural work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
• Physical capability and skills necessary for fieldwork, including camping.
• Willingness to travel extensively during the field season.
• Ability to travel internationally as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Expertise in software such as Leapfrog, ArcPRO, and ioGAS is a plus.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including a 14x14 rotation based from remote exploration camps during active drilling and field programs.
