Expert Consultant – Understanding Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA), Migrant Children

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.

📋 Description

• Examine and assess initial survey results regarding OCSEA among migrant children and their families in Thai construction worker camps.

• Offer academic preliminary feedback, expert perspectives, advisory notes, and validation in line with global OCSEA research standards.

• Lead and conduct at least one half-day workshop with the core team in October.

• Provide insights on the evolving risks associated with OCSEA, child protection, parenting, prevention, and case management within the Thai context.

• Assist in analytical reflections on how findings can guide integrated, realistic, and context-sensitive responses from BDF.

• Deliver interdisciplinary conceptual guidance that links OCSEA, child protection, parenting, prevention, and case management.

• Formulate strategic recommendations and technical advice for the design of the FGD framework and question sets.

• Counsel on the integration of Gender-Sensitive Design (GSD).

• Suggest psychological safeguarding measures and trauma-informed strategies for FGD sessions.

• Aid in the creation of qualitative research tools and practical safeguarding recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Renowned international scholar/expert in Child Protection and Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) with a proven global reputation.

• High-level specialized expertise at the nexus of OCSEA, Child Protection, Parenting, Prevention, and Case Management.

• Comprehensive and current knowledge of the evolving research needs and interventions in the field of OCSEA.

• Proficiency in Gender-Sensitive Design (GSD), Focus Group Discussion (FGD) design, child safeguarding, and trauma-informed research methodologies.

• Capability to provide services in English.

• Technical proposal in English detailing the approach, methodology, and work plan.

• Financial proposal including a detailed budget.

• CV(s) of key personnel involved.

• Samples of previous relevant work are required.

• The selected candidate must submit a criminal record or clearance certificate along with two professional references.

• Adherence to BDF’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, and Anti-Corruption Policy is mandatory.
