Experienced Energy Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze power projects and translate technical concepts and information into actionable conclusions and recommendations.

• Assist stakeholders in the development, design, construction, operation, and financing of energy projects both domestically and internationally.

• Provide guidance to power project developers on utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal, and other initiatives.

• Conduct independent evaluations of new power and infrastructure projects to facilitate financing.

• Model economic, technical, and market scenarios for grid operators, utilities, and research organizations.

• Create planning studies and business cases for utilities, power producers, and governmental entities.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.

• Lead efforts in leveraging data, automation, and AI to enhance workflows, minimize rework, and produce cost-effective designs.

• Oversee automation and process improvement initiatives, including the automation of calculations, summarization of technical documents, and generation of design documentation.

• Provide guidance on the use of AI or agentic AI tools, ensuring that results are verified.

• Supervise engineers in programming or scripting tasks to automate engineering processes and review automated outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, and/or civil/structural engineering is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.

• Other engineering degrees may be considered.

• Experience with power or transmission projects is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in technical report writing.

• Experience in multi-discipline teamwork.

• Skills in data analysis and visualization.

• Knowledge of project finance or business principles.

• Competence in conceptual project design.

• Familiarity with construction project management and/or scheduling software.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work with and guide others.

• Skills in project planning, leadership, and organization.

• Good decision-making and judgment capabilities.

• Willingness or ability to lead others utilizing modern tools, automation, and AI.

• U.S. work authorization is required; the employer does not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S.

• Experience in overseeing automation with Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel is valued but not essential.

• Additional education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is highly regarded.
