This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and other critical power equipment.

• Identify electrical and control system faults utilizing schematics, testing equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.

• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and related power infrastructure.

• Address emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational functionality.

• Execute battery testing, capacity assessments, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services.

• Prepare service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications.

• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and outstanding service delivery.

• Mentor junior technicians and assist in field training initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety protocols, and customer site requirements.

• Support additional field service activities as business and customer demands change.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years of practical experience in servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical systems.

• Preferred experience with Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or similar critical power platforms.

• Strong comprehension of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Skilled in using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools.

• Capable of independently troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical and electronic system failures.

• Excellent customer-facing communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional accountability.

• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

• Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned service territory, including overnight and multi-day trips.

• Capacity to meet company vehicle requirements.

• Ability to pass necessary pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background checks where applicable.

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and/or move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and work in confined or restricted-access areas.

• Proficient in working safely around energized electrical equipment and in critical customer environments.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail and safety awareness.

• Aptitude for managing multiple priorities in fast-paced field settings.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to customer emergencies.

• Capability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance Access to customer facilities.

• Military experience in electronics, avionics, communications, radar, power generation, electrical maintenance, nuclear power, or related technical fields is highly encouraged.
