This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment.

• Identify electrical and control system issues using schematics, testing equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.

• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and related power infrastructure.

• Respond to emergency service requests and restore customer systems to operational status.

• Execute battery testing, capacity assessments, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services.

• Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and communications with customers.

• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and exemplary service delivery.

• Mentor junior technicians and enhance field training by sharing troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and technical knowledge.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety protocols, and customer site requirements.

• Assist with additional field service tasks as business and customer requirements evolve.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure.

• Experience with Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or equivalent critical power platforms is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Experience utilizing multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools.

• Capability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures.

• Excellent customer-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.

• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional accountability.

• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

• Willingness to travel within the assigned service area, including overnight and multi-day trips.

• Ability to meet company vehicle requirements.

• Ability to successfully pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening and background checks where applicable.

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and/or move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and work in confined or restricted-access areas.

• Ability to work safely around energized electrical equipment and in mission-critical customer environments.

• Capability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced field environments.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to customer emergencies.

• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance Access to customer facilities.

• Compliance with OSHA, DOT, NFPA 70E, customer site requirements, and company safety policies.
