Executive Director, Practice Opening

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the team responsible for the national practice openings, reporting directly to the VP of Member Enrollment.

• Lead and mentor 7 Practice Opening Managers who manage a national portfolio with over 200 launches each year.

• Establish independent physician practices for doctors transitioning from hospital systems, insurance companies, or multi-specialty groups.

• Assist with the openings and operations of independent physician practices for those selling their practices.

• Provide support for site selection and the physical buildout of locations.

• Aid in the creation of business entities, provider enrollment, and credentialing processes.

• Organize office setups, IT infrastructure, EMR systems, and revenue cycle management.

• Help with staffing, recruitment, and onboarding processes.

• Share best practices regarding practice operations.

• Successfully launch hundreds of new physician offices and practices annually, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

• Prepare and oversee practice opening checklists, documentation, and reporting tools.

• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, including real estate agents, general contractors, and suppliers.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive business initiatives forward.

• Ensure physician satisfaction while adhering to opening timelines and budgetary constraints.

• Coach Practice Opening Managers and hold them accountable for performance targets.

• Address at-risk openings and eliminate obstacles with senior stakeholders from marketing, IT, legal, and operations.

• Standardize and enhance national playbooks, Smartsheet, Jira, Salesforce, Confluence, and reporting processes.

• Collaborate with the Member Enrollment leadership to guarantee smooth handoffs to Success Management.

• Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent.

• 7 years of professional experience.

• 4 years in Executive Director-level positions, managing teams, projects, or client accounts.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

• Proven ability to lead and effectively develop teams.

• Capability to create and improve standardized processes across a national scope.

• Exceptional communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.

• Strong project management and operational expertise.

• Results-driven with a proven track record of surpassing goals and targets.

• Ability to build trust, influence, and provide advice to physicians on business optimization.

• Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting skills.

• Demonstrated experience in hiring, coaching, and managing performance for client-facing project or implementation managers.

• MBA or equivalent leadership/business education is preferred.

• Familiarity with business formation processes, licensing, and regulatory environments is preferred.

• Prior experience managing Practice Opening Managers, implementation managers, or similar client-facing project management staff in healthcare or service delivery is preferred.

• Experience in healthcare, specifically in the formation of new physician practices/offices and/or clinical operations.

• Background in working with physicians, ideally in an outpatient environment, while ensuring compliance with regulations.
