This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Oversee LEARN Behavioral's advocacy initiatives aimed at enhancing access to care for individuals with autism, particularly those covered by Medicaid.
• Create and execute advocacy programs in essential markets alongside internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with local leadership to incorporate advocacy goals into the overall business strategy and objectives.
• Engage with executive management, local leaders, and third-party lobbyists.
• Monitor and report on legislation and regulations that influence access to care.
• Establish and maintain relationships with legislators, regulators, payors, and industry partners.
• Represent LEARN at pertinent forums, conferences, and events.
• Keep executive management updated on developments that may affect the organization.
• Collaborate with Payor Relations and Revenue Cycle Management teams on reimbursement-related matters.
• Act as a liaison with important industry groups.
• Serve as LEARN's main contact for national and regional industry associations.
• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in advocacy, government relations, public policy, or a closely related area.
• Direct experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Ability to convert complex policy issues into actionable advocacy plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinicians, legislators, and payors.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel to represent LEARN in important markets and forums.
• Candidates must currently be eligible to work in the United States.
• Proficient in expressive and receptive communication, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to identify when something is amiss or likely to go awry.
