This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Spearhead the implementation of the comprehensive business development strategy to foster long-term growth and profitability.
• Partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment of business development goals with corporate objectives.
• Create and sustain strategic account plans and partnerships with major accounts.
• Examine market trends, customer requirements, and competitive insights to uncover new business prospects.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize high-impact opportunities and strategic alliances.
• Meet or surpass annual sales objectives and targets for designated accounts.
• Allocate accounts and territories while setting individual sales goals for each territory.
• Assist the sales team in nurturing internal and external relationships and discovering new market opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales leaders across different business units to cultivate joint opportunities and client relationships.
• Direct margin and pricing negotiations.
• Enhance internal relationships and communication with operational colleagues.
• Contribute to global Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and preferred provider contracts.
• Set and track performance objectives for the business development team.
• Manage pipeline oversight, forecasting, and analysis of essential sales metrics.
• Guide, coach, and mentor Business Development Directors.
• Address and resolve internal and external challenges, eliminating obstacles to success.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent and relevant formal qualification.
• Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of educational prerequisites.
• At least 10 years of experience in business development within the Clinical Research, Pharma, or Biotech sectors.
• Minimum of 9 years in senior leadership positions focused on business development and strategic client management.
• At least 6 years of experience in a people-management or team-leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in securing new business contracts and expanding existing accounts.
• Experience in forming strategic partnerships and conducting complex contract negotiations.
• Comprehensive understanding of drug discovery and development principles.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory agencies and compliance standards.
• Solid grasp of commercialization, deal terms, and conditions related to various models.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and Salesforce.com skills.
• Strong financial acumen, encompassing budgeting and financial planning and reporting.
• Proven executive presence and capacity to influence at all organizational levels.
• Extensive leadership experience in presentations to executives and senior client stakeholders.
• Established leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a matrixed team setting.
• Frequent travel required based on business needs.
• Flexibility to attend meetings across various time zones outside of core working hours.
