This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Supervise and engage in all facets of ALS/BLS/performance examination creation and implementation, from the initial blueprint to the technical report.

• Implement examination project plans, encompassing content creation, administration, publication, and distribution.

• Assess examination and item development requirements and suggest enhancements to policies, procedures, and workflows.

• Monitor key performance indicators and metrics related to inquiry responses.

• Prioritize, scope, coordinate, and oversee assigned examination projects.

• Review and create item content and lead content review meetings.

• Recruit and mentor subject-matter experts while facilitating item writing and review processes.

• Create assignments, training materials, item models, cognitive maps, and associated resources.

• Gather and evaluate post-meeting data and compile reports regarding outcomes and content quality.

• Review and manage item pools, pilot test data, and examination content.

• Engage in item analyses, cognitive interviews, focus groups, and pilot studies.

• Assist in the development of new item types, scoring instruments, rubric updates, and content review methodologies.

• Incorporate references and rationales into items within the item management system.

• Administer examination development resources, which include image banks, reference materials, variant lists, and job aids.

• Collaborate with Examination Operations, psychometricians, editors, vendors, IT, stakeholders, and internal teams.

• Investigate candidate inquiries, item challenges, examination-related issues, and potential security threats.

• Take part in examination security investigations concerning compromised content.

• Ensure compliance with NCCA standards and update examination procedures and work instructions.

• Communicate updates, expected challenges, and operational changes to the Stakeholder team.

• Track examination trends, volumes, pass rates, and other critical metrics while preparing reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a clinical health profession or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.

• Must be a current or recent state-licensed paramedic.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of high-volume EMS experience is required.

• Preferred 3–5 years of experience as an EMS instructor.

• Familiarity with the testing lifecycle: development, publication, administration, analysis, and reporting.

• Ability to clearly document policies, procedures, work instructions, and reports for both internal and external audiences.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• High standards of ethics and integrity.

• Must be able to effectively work in an office setting.

• Willingness to travel up to 10 nights per year.
