Events Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the events strategy for Substack in the UK.

• Conceptualize and manage events in significant international markets alongside the Head of International and regional leads.

• Discover opportunities to boost the brand, stimulate cultural discussions, and attract both creators and subscribers.

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of UK events, from initial concept and promotion to on-site coordination.

• Ensure that events yield social media and press coverage.

• Support Partnership Leads and offer operational assistance for events specific to the market.

• Oversee the UK events budget, establish measurement frameworks, track ROI, and manage international procedures.

• Recruit and lead a team of freelancers and contractors.

• Design scalable events tailored for strategic regions and territories.

• Collaborate with internal teams, agencies, and vendors to create impactful experiences.

• Report to the Head of Communications & Brand.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in experiential event marketing and production.

• Significant experience in a managerial role.

• Proven track record of developing and scaling event strategies that deliver measurable business results.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Extensive network of top-tier creative, production, and experiential agencies and vendors.

• Familiarity with Substack as either a creator or subscriber.

• Ability to flourish in startup settings and build initiatives from the ground up.

• Willingness and ability to travel globally for on-site execution when required.
