This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Identify and research relevant events, community initiatives, and sponsorship opportunities throughout Canada.
• Assess opportunities based on CHN's established criteria and scoring framework.
• Adhere to CHN's event selection criteria guidelines to determine which events and opportunities to prioritize.
• Ensure that research and recommendations align with CHN’s national and regional priorities, as well as broader organizational goals.
• Evaluate audience fit, demographics, alignment with CHN values, geographic relevance, costs, expected impact, and potential value.
• Engage with event organizers to collect and verify information, pricing, and sponsorship details.
• Advise whether CHN should attend, sponsor, monitor, or decline opportunities, providing clear justification for each recommendation.
• Maintain a national calendar for events and sponsorships, manage the opportunity pipeline, and track upcoming decision deadlines.
• Identify potential for strategic partnerships beyond conventional event participation.
• Document decisions, costs, outcomes, and available impact measures, along with lessons learned to help CHN enhance its event and sponsorship investment decisions and inform future planning.
• Foster and sustain relationships with community organizations, event organizers, and charitable and non-profit partners.
• Ensure that approved events and sponsorships are secured and planned with adequate lead time.
• Communicate expectations, timelines, and participation requirements clearly to colleagues responsible for execution.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, including experience engaging with the public through events and community initiatives.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities, with the ability to gather information from various sources, assess its reliability, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including coordination and follow-up.
• Ability to cultivate effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple opportunities, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
• Sound judgement, curiosity, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and circumstances and make recommendations when information is incomplete.
• Ability to objectively evaluate opportunities against established criteria, including audience fit, strategic alignment, cost, and anticipated value.
• Proficiency in working with data, tracking results, and identifying trends and insights over time.
• Familiarity with office and communication tools, and the ability to learn and effectively utilize CHN systems and tracking tools.
• Understanding of marketing, sponsorship, community engagement, and/or partnership development is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Canada’s diverse communities, with the ability to consider regional and cultural differences when evaluating opportunities, is a plus.
