This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Supervise Community Events interns, establishing clear expectations while fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure that deliverables and deadlines are adhered to.
• Proactively address challenges, enhance workflows, and maintain the smooth operation of remote activities.
• Keep Slack communication, project updates, and shared calendars well-organized.
• Lead weekly meetings for the Community Department and follow up on assigned action items.
• Manage speaker series, campus outreach, ONC booths, and networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Director of Community Events, COO, and CEO on initiatives related to College Campus and ONC College Chapters.
• Direct outreach efforts towards speakers, mentors, experts, ONC advisors, college clubs, and campus representatives.
• Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, speaker confirmations, Zoom setup, Eventbrite listings, and attendee communications.
• Work alongside other ONC departments to promote and execute events.
• Assist with onboarding, mentor interns, and provide constructive feedback.
• Report on team progress, resource requirements, and any escalated issues to leadership.
• Collect feedback from events and suggest improvements.
• Experience in management or leadership through work, internships, student organizations, volunteer programs, or team projects.
• A keen interest in event management, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership.
• A background in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Confidence in leading a team, delegating tasks, and holding team members professionally accountable.
• Energetic, dedicated, and proactive, demonstrating strong ownership and follow-through.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills across various projects and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated responsiveness, consistency, and effective communication, even in conflict situations.
• Ability to lead remotely, collaborate effectively, and work independently.
• Good judgment in resolving issues and knowing when to involve leadership.
• Proficiency in using Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Eventbrite is preferred.
• Availability to attend weekly organization-wide meetings and lead weekly Community Department meetings.
• Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
• A one-page cover letter detailing leadership experience and interest in the role is required.
