This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Establish a coverage strategy for a new daily newsletter that focuses on the HR sector in Europe.

• Develop a beat, cultivate sources, pitch stories, build stakeholder relationships, and seek exclusive insights.

• Report and produce an average of 5 articles weekly, varying in length and depth.

• Edit the work of colleagues and support daily newsletter operations.

• Attend and report on industry events.

• Occasionally assist in leading webinars pertinent to the subject area.

• Identify, write, and edit articles on HR news, trends, and labor and employment law.

• Conduct interviews with HR executives and relevant sources.

• Enhance breaking news and provide in-depth analysis stories.

• Support the planning and execution of significant projects.

• Collaborate with editors and reporters based in the U.S.

• Report directly to HR Dive’s lead editor.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in reporting, writing, and editing news stories, ideally focused on labor and employment law in the UK and EU.

• Knowledge of digital newsletter and website publishing operations and their objectives.

• Previous experience in shaping coverage for an audience of HR executives.

• Familiarity with key performance indicators in digital publishing.

• Capacity to quickly assume ownership of a specific beat through original reporting and relationship-building with essential and diverse sources.

• Ability to manage ambitious and innovative reporting projects.

• Experience in substantive editing, copy editing, and fact-checking content.

• Skill in crafting headlines that enhance content discoverability.

• Strong time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering stories promptly.

• Proficiency in social media and the ability to grow an audience on major platforms.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant journalism experience.

• Candidates must not require visa sponsorship for employment.
