ETL Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing BigQuery, PostgreSQL, and various third-party SaaS integrations.

• Design and spearhead the data extraction and transformation strategy from Snowflake environments.

• Establish standards for schema, transformation logic, and data quality criteria that support downstream analysis and product applications.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and product teams to define data contracts and schema standards.

• Develop and execute an alerting and observability strategy for data pipelines on GCP.

• Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs), alert thresholds, and build dashboards.

• Configure the monitoring stack.

• Ensure data quality by writing validation logic, identifying issues, resolving problems, and designing solutions prior to production.

• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle from design through to deployment.

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• 4+ years of experience in software or data engineering.

• Practical experience with data extraction and integration from Snowflake.

• Proficient in BigQuery and PostgreSQL.

• Strong skills in Python.

• Comfortable interfacing with third-party APIs and SaaS data sources.

• Experience in constructing atomic, modular codebases.

• Familiarity with GCP or comparable cloud infrastructure.

• Experience with Airflow, Polars, Parquet, or Spark (desirable).

• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tools (desirable).

• Interest in the NLP/AI domain (desirable).

• Comfort in a rapidly evolving startup environment (desirable).

• Authorization to work in the US without company sponsorship.
