This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
β’ Oversee and direct the organization's conflict of interest program.
β’ Perform reviews related to conflicts of interest and create mitigation strategies.
β’ Provide guidance to employees and management regarding potential conflict issues.
β’ Offer legal advice and practical insights on ethics, compliance, anti-bribery, and corporate conduct matters.
β’ Counsel on ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and employee inquiries.
β’ Administer the Ethics Help Line and manage the Ethics Office mailbox.
β’ Timely review and address reported concerns.
β’ Conduct or supervise internal ethics and compliance investigations.
β’ Suggest suitable corrective measures.
β’ Design, implement, and maintain ethics and compliance training programs, awareness initiatives, and communications.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint compliance risks and aid in mitigation strategies.
β’ Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
β’ Keep abreast of emerging regulatory and compliance trends and advise on their organizational implications.
β’ Manage external counsel and other outside resources on sensitive or specialized issues.
β’ Collaborate with Human Resources, Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and business leaders throughout the organization.
β’ Juris Doctor (JD) is mandatory.
β’ Must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, which includes at least 1 year of direct experience in ethics and compliance.
β’ Experience should be gained within a multinational corporation, law firm, or governmental agency.
β’ Background in supporting ethics and compliance programs, encompassing conflicts of interest, codes of conduct, ethics investigations, anti-bribery compliance, ethics reporting, or similar corporate compliance initiatives.
β’ Capable of independently handling sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
β’ Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Proficient in influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
β’ Strong presentation and training facilitation skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
β’ Experience in navigating complex, highly matrixed organizations.
β’ Aptitude for identifying legal and compliance risks and formulating practical, business-oriented solutions.
β’ Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage competing demands, and drive initiatives to completion.
β’ Experience advising publicly traded companies is preferred.
β’ Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
β’ If working remotely, must have cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed.
