This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Conduct takeoffs and prepare bids based on plans and specifications.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and revisions effectively.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring consistent follow-up to adhere to bid deadlines.
• Oversee pre-construction support and maintain site coordination documentation.
• Utilize Bluebeam, WinX Grade, Heavy Bid, or similar estimating software.
• Evaluate complex public bid packages and detailed specifications for compliance.
• Execute cost analysis for heavy civil and asphalt paving projects.
• Assist with site visits or provide efficient onsite communication, including client support for remote site visits.
• Take full ownership of intricate bids from planning and specifications through to submission.
• Collaborate closely with the established estimating team.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction estimating is required.
• Civil engineer or construction estimator with 6 to 15 years of experience preferred.
• Strong expertise in heavy civil, earthwork, and asphalt/paving estimating.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with subcontractors.
• Demonstrated experience in US construction projects.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, or similar estimating software; training will be provided if necessary.
• Proficient in Bluebeam or eager to learn quickly.
• Experience with estimating heavy civil or earthwork projects; asphalt/paving experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, in the US Eastern Time zone, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
• Comfortable managing intricate bid coordination and subcontractor communication.
• Excellent communication skills essential for coordinating with subcontractors.
• Detail-oriented with the capability to manage complex bid packages and specifications.
• Proactive problem-solver adept at handling high-volume, time-sensitive bidding.
• Reliable internet connection and personal computer setup required.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
