This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Take ownership of the entire estimation process, from reviewing plans and conducting quantity takeoffs to sourcing vendor pricing and formulating competitive bids.
• Analyze commercial construction drawings, specifications, and plans.
• Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for masonry scopes including brick, block, and stone.
• Create precise and competitive estimates and bids.
• Develop comprehensive scope sheets and estimating documentation.
• Solicit and manage quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
• Evaluate pricing and coordinate RFQs with trade partners.
• Assess design modifications and revise estimates accordingly.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and other project-related documentation.
• Engage with project teams, vendors, and clients as necessary.
• Join daily or weekly planning discussions.
• Provide regular updates on estimating progress and project developments.
• Collaborate with field teams to clarify scope, quantities, and pricing.
• Maintain organized and precise estimating records.
• Acquire proficiency in the company's Tradesman estimating platform.
• Ensure all estimates conform to company standards regarding accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in construction estimating, with a strong preference for commercial masonry projects.
• Demonstrated experience in estimating brick, block, and/or stone projects.
• Required experience in commercial construction; residential masonry experience alone is insufficient.
• Familiarity with working for or with US-based construction or masonry contractors.
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction plans, specifications, and scopes.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Spanish fluency is highly regarded due to the bilingual composition of the team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to follow-through.
• Ability to independently learn new software and cloud-based systems.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Tradesman estimating software is beneficial.
• Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Swift, Sage, AutoCAD, or similar estimating/takeoff tools is a plus.
• Capability to work full-time Monday to Friday, aligned with Eastern Time (±2 hours).
• Independent contractor status, responsible for personal equipment, taxes, and benefits.
• Remote work setup.
