Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Analyze architectural, electrical, and construction drawings and specifications to comprehend project scope and requirements.

• Conduct detailed material and equipment takeoffs from project plans.

• Recognize scope related to security cameras/CCTV, access control systems, low-voltage wiring and infrastructure, structured cabling, gates, fencing, burglar alarms, and various security equipment.

• Ascertain appropriate materials, equipment, and quantities in accordance with project plans and company estimating standards.

• Develop preliminary project estimates based on completed takeoffs.

• Investigate and integrate material costs, equipment needs, and relevant pricing.

• Examine plans to determine camera placements, including building entrances, exits, and other areas requiring security coverage.

• Identify access-control requirements, door placements, and related equipment.

• Review estimates for thoroughness, accuracy, and possible scope discrepancies.

• Conduct a final quality-control review prior to submitting estimates.

• Communicate with estimating and project teams regarding inquiries, discrepancies, and plan details that need clarification.

• Adhere to established company estimating procedures, standards, and pricing guidelines.

• Continuously enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency as knowledge of company systems, processes, and pricing grows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating, with the capability to read and interpret architectural and electrical drawings.

• Experience in performing construction takeoffs and preparing project estimates.

• Strong comprehension of construction plans and documentation.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and numerical precision.

• Skillful in identifying missing information and making logical estimating decisions based on available plans.

• Capable of managing multiple projects and working independently after training.

• Comfortable in a remote work environment.

• Experience in Low Voltage Estimating is highly preferred.

• Experience in Electrical Estimating or General/New Construction Estimating is highly favored.

• Familiarity with estimating US-based construction projects and US construction plans and estimating practices is highly preferred.

• Experience with security cameras/CCTV, access control, low-voltage systems, or structured cabling is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of commercial security systems, camera placement, and access-control requirements is highly preferred.

• Experience in performing material takeoffs and reviewing commercial building plans is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Service Fusion or similar estimating/takeoff software is a plus, but not mandatory.
