This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate clients' current wills, trust documents, and comprehensive estate plans in relation to their objectives.
• Identify and articulate estate-plan discrepancies in straightforward language.
• Outline specific next steps and link clients to suitable resources.
• Utilize trust expertise to uncover opportunities and gaps within intricate, multi-entity estates.
• Assess insurance policies as part of the holistic estate planning process.
• Serve as an internal liaison to the Advisor team on complex estate planning cases.
• Assist in client-facing discussions regarding advanced estate planning inquiries.
• Develop Wealthsimple's estate review and planning framework from the ground up.
• Seamlessly incorporate the estate planning process with current tax and family enterprise services.
• Leverage AI tools to expedite document reviews, model scenarios, and enhance team performance.
• Over 5 years of experience in estate planning, trusts and estates law, or a related wealth management advisory role.
• Legal expertise with practical experience in reviewing or drafting wills, trusts, and associated estate documents.
• TEP designation is strongly preferred.
• Profound knowledge of trusts, including their structures, taxation, and applications within complex estates.
• Familiarity with insurance policies and the ability to evaluate their significance in an estate plan.
• Experience in pinpointing gaps in estate plans and converting them into clear, actionable next steps.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey intricate legal and estate concepts clearly.
• Comfortable operating without a predefined playbook.
• A client-centric approach.
• An AI-native mindset with a passion for utilizing AI tools.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a significant advantage.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Permanent residence location must be disclosed.
• CIRO registration status needs to be validated.
