Equity Specialist – Product Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the equity subject matter expert for engineering and product teams.

• Work closely with Product Managers to establish functional requirements for equity management features, which include grant administration, vesting schedules, tax compliance, and reporting.

• Convert equity plan rules and regulatory guidelines into executable specifications for software development.

• Assess technical designs and workflows to ensure compliance with ASC 718, tax regulations, and global equity plans.

• Collaborate with QA teams to create test cases that encompass equity scenarios and edge cases.

• Engage during sprint planning and backlog refinement to guarantee that equity-related features are prioritized and implemented accurately.

• Offer insights on data structures, integration points, and reporting requirements associated with equity plans.

• Keep track of industry trends and regulatory updates, advising on necessary adjustments to the product roadmap.

• Facilitate training sessions for engineering and product teams to enhance understanding of equity concepts and compliance obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Equity Professional (CEP) Level 3 is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in equity compensation administration or consulting.

• In-depth understanding of global equity plan frameworks, tax compliance, and accounting standards (ASC 718).

• Proven experience working with software development teams or technology platforms related to equity management.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to produce detailed functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

• Experience with data modeling, APIs, or SaaS platforms in the equity sector is advantageous.

• Proficient in writing SQL queries for data validation and reporting purposes.

• Familiarity with relational database design and equity-related data architectures.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs for integration with third-party systems.

• Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

• Exposure to equity management software (e.g., Shareworks, Carta, Certent).

• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python or similar) for data analysis or automation tasks.

• Understanding of Git-based workflows to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
