Equity Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and manage classification systems for public financial disclosures across various jurisdictions.

• Develop rules to convert unstructured data into normalized, queryable datasets.

• Investigate disclosure requirements in new markets and incorporate jurisdiction-specific details into the data model.

• Collaborate with LLMs to formulate and enhance prompts, develop and test logic, and iterate based on results.

• Work alongside QA and engineering teams to identify edge cases and ensure data accuracy.

• Recognize coverage opportunities and prioritize them based on commercial signals.

• Transform internal and external feedback into robust systems.

• Assist in leading research and development for new data capabilities and product innovation.

• Take ownership of the logic that converts raw public disclosures into structured, API-ready datasets.

• Collaborate directly with the COO and oversee data capture and processing systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound knowledge of finance and investing, along with a genuine enthusiasm for creating a data product for investors.

• 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, investing, and/or data-related roles.

• Strong analytical and data skills, with a good understanding of various accounting standards and jurisdictions.

• Inherently curious systems thinker with excellent pattern recognition, the ability to connect ideas, and comfort with uncertainty.

• Self-motivated, resourceful, and an effective communicator.

• Eager to contribute to a rapidly growing startup environment.

• CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
