EPC Manager – Utility-Scale Solar, BESS, Wind

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• The primary technical authority in EPC management, especially for our PV and BESS projects, serving as the Owner's Engineer in collaboration with current project managers.

• Development and enforcement of internal technical guidelines and specifications.

• Technical assessment of solutions and components, such as types of battery storage, manufacturers, degradation curves, and system design.

• Supervision and approval throughout the entire project lifecycle, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), site inspections, and on-site acceptance in partnership with EPC contractors/subcontractors.

• Management of EPC negotiations for intricate supply and EPC contracts, encompassing technical requirements and payment conditions.

• Coordination with the commercial/financial team and project management.

• Assistance in the preparation of technical designs and specifications, notably for grid connection, cable route planning, and PV system layouts.

• Establishment and development of the EPC management function as the first hire in this role.

• Direct reporting to executive management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience in EPC management, owner's engineering, or the technical delivery of utility-scale PV and/or battery storage (BESS) projects in Germany.

• Not open to career changers; direct experience is necessary.

• A degree in electrical, energy, or civil engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

• Strong technical understanding of PV and/or BESS systems, components, and manufacturers.

• Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and construction/site acceptance testing.

• Proven experience in negotiating and structuring complex supply/EPC contracts, including payment terms.

• Established network and concrete market knowledge within the German PV/BESS sector.

• Willingness to travel for on-site meetings, site visits, supplier meetings, and FATs.

• Business-fluent in both German and English.

• An independent and responsible working style, with a readiness to take on meaningful responsibilities.
