This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer management and project staff support, along with oversight for environmental and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to environmental and safety legal and regulatory standards, hazardous waste and materials requirements, corporate initiatives, customer specifications, and ISO 14001/9001 guidelines and operational controls.
• Oversee EHS programs and information systems while developing new programs or processes when necessary.
• Provide guidance and support for project staff, either on-site or off-site.
• Create site-specific procedures and action plans.
• Perform remote or on-site start-up, safety evaluations, environmental assessments, and ISO audits.
• Formulate and monitor corrective/preventive actions until completion.
• Travel to client locations to observe and assist with EHS programs and best safety practices.
• Manage EHS initiatives and programs, encompassing DOT Driver Qualification files, ISO submissions, safety observations, OSHA metrics, medical monitoring, scorecards, recognition programs, rule books, DriveCam, vehicle compliance, and training events.
• Administer various databases and software, including CYCLE, Beacon Insights, EHS Portal, Excel, DISA, CA DMV, and SharePoint.
• Design, maintain, and deliver EHS, OSHA, ISO, and EPA-mandated training.
• Assess environmental, DOT, and safety regulations and propose compliance strategies.
• Offer guidance on safe and compliant waste management practices.
• Apply for and manage necessary permits.
• Oversee incidents and injuries, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive measures.
• Manage customer-oriented compliance databases.
• Assist other WM divisions and business lines with EHS expertise.
• Identify recurring issues and take suitable actions.
• Support corporate personnel in fulfilling company and regulatory obligations at project sites.
• Counsel management on resolving issues, achieving EHS objectives, and enhancing programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• More than 10 years of practical and programmatic experience in Health & Safety/compliance.
• Some experience in training is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and industrial operations.
• Must reside and work in the U.S.
• Master’s degree in safety or environmental management is preferred.
• Over 10 years of environmental and safety experience is preferred.
