Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with individuals such as subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable parties.

• Review relevant records to gather pertinent facts.

• Address all significant issues related to a case.

• Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of subjects being investigated.

• Perform interviews through Virtual Teleconference (VTC), phone calls, and in-person meetings, with VTC being the primary method.

• Participate in an extensive multi-week virtual training program.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship with a seasoned Investigator.

• Be open to traveling across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, which generally last around 2 weeks.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience showing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• A strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• An impeccable work ethic, integrity, and a positive, can-do attitude.

• Proficiency in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems simultaneously.

• A current driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• A home office that is equipped with reliable high-speed Internet.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Outstanding written and oral communication abilities.

• Proficient in conveying complex or sensitive information clearly.

• Skilled in attentive listening, responding appropriately to nonverbal cues, and delivering clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Capability to maintain strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient in English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; ability to convey information succinctly and in an organized manner.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 (preferred but not required).
