This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Act as a key member of Samsara’s pre-sales team focusing on large North American fleets and organizations involved in physical operations.
• Collaborate with strategic sales and sales leadership to establish Samsara as the preferred technical vendor and a long-term business collaborator.
• Team up with sales executives to strategize, prepare, and implement significant deals during complex sales cycles.
• Align customer challenges and needs with proposed solutions.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and trust throughout the sales process and beyond.
• Operate across various levels of the technology stack.
• Deploy and install hardware for proof of concept demonstrations.
• Configure SaaS dashboards.
• Oversee custom reporting and integrations utilizing Samsara’s API.
• Provide mentorship to other Sales Engineers.
• Share technical expertise and industry knowledge through training.
• Advocate for Samsara’s cultural values.
• Present IoT hardware, sensors, cloud infrastructure, and integrations to public-sector clients.
• Travel frequently within the designated region.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year university.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales roles.
• At least 3+ years in enterprise sales.
• Comprehensive knowledge of APIs, security, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, automation, networking, and control systems.
• Demonstrated capability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems in a maintenance or shop setting.
• Proficient in selling complex solutions and navigating detailed customer evaluations and deployments.
• Strong ability to analyze customer needs, prioritize feature requests, and foster collaboration between customers and product teams.
• Skilled in developing persuasive financial models and business justifications.
• Experience in leading complex projects and nurturing collaborative work environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%).
• Residence within the Eastern Time Zone in the Midwest Region is required.
• Proximity to a major airport is highly desirable.
• Preferred: experience with integration projects and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
• Preferred: familiarity with vehicle diagnostic systems, CAN bus, and PTO applications.
• Preferred: background in Fleet, Logistics, Supply Chain, Telematics, Manufacturing, or general operations.
• Experience in the Public Sector.
• Proficient in technical enablement and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Familiarity with Databricks, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
• Familiarity with ESRI.
• Advanced education or degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
