
Enterprise Sales Engineer – Ohio Valley

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Act as the technical expert and primary decision-making partner throughout enterprise sales cycles, from initial discovery to final close.
• Take ownership of Proof of Value success criteria and desired outcomes.
• Facilitate architecture-level discussions with teams specializing in security, email, and identity.
• Perform technical discovery to identify customer risks.
• Conduct research on technical and competitive landscapes to effectively respond to customer inquiries and objections.
• Provide answers to architecture-level inquiries and questions related to modern threats.
• Clarify the reasons legacy secure email gateways are ineffective against social engineering and identity-based attacks.
• Train sales executives and partners on Abnormal AI products, the platform, and overall security posture.
• Enhance customer satisfaction and ensure successful outcomes for enterprises.
• Execute both in-person and remote product demonstrations.
• Develop strategic, value-oriented business cases for complex enterprise opportunities.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Account Executives.
• Reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan.
• Over 5 years of experience in Sales Engineering or a related industry role.
• Proven ability to lead technical discovery and architectural discussions with teams focused on security, infrastructure, identity, and compliance.
• Excellent technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capability to identify complex business challenges and design appropriate solutions.
• Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, high-impact enterprise sales environment.
• Strong customer-centric approach and a commitment to achieving customer results.
• Solid grasp of SaaS security models, particularly in multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, and enterprise networking concepts pertinent to email and SaaS security.
• Experience with enterprise email security platforms like Proofpoint, Mimecast, Cisco, or Barracuda.
• Technical expertise in messaging and internet security principles.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Exchange Online/Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Understanding of SMTP mail flow, MX records, and mail routing processes.
• Knowledge of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC protocols.
• Familiarity with cloud SaaS infrastructure and identity services such as Azure AD/Entra ID/Google Identity.
• Ability to articulate identity-driven and modern social engineering attacks and their architectural controls.
• Experience integrating SaaS platforms using OAuth and REST APIs.
• Acquainted with SIEM platforms like Splunk or Sentinel and SOC operational workflows.
• Experience working with SOC incident response teams and their workflows.
• Security certifications such as CISSP or CEH are advantageous.
