
Enterprise Procurement Operations Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design, document, implement, and continuously enhance procurement operating procedures and workflows.
• Create scalable processes for intake, sourcing, contracting, supplier onboarding, approvals, purchasing, renewal planning, supplier management, and governance.
• Develop process maps, standard operating procedures, playbooks, templates, decision rights, service standards, and controls.
• Identify process bottlenecks, unclear ownership, unnecessary handoffs, and rework, and implement effective solutions.
• Lead procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that align with enterprise priorities.
• Develop and manage implementation roadmaps, project plans, dependencies, risks, decisions, and change activities.
• Establish KPIs and service measures for procurement effectiveness, efficiency, adoption, cycle time, and stakeholder experience.
• Serve as the business owner and functional lead for procurement workflows, intake, reporting, and related technology capabilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and technology providers to enhance configurations, integrations, data flows, controls, and user experience.
• Identify automation and AI-enabled opportunities to minimize manual work, enhance data quality, and support decision-making.
• Develop adoption plans, user guidance, training materials, and support processes for procurement tools and workflows.
• Create and maintain procurement intake standards, routing logic, triage processes, ownership models, and service expectations.
• Establish governance for sourcing requests, supplier onboarding, contract workflows, renewals, technology acquisitions, and purchasing activities.
• Monitor workflow performance, exceptions, aging, handoffs, and service levels, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support the development of procurement policies, procedure alignment, controls, and enterprise adoption.
• Create procurement dashboards, reporting frameworks, operational metrics, and executive-ready insights.
• Establish data definitions, ownership, quality standards, and reconciliation practices across procurement processes and systems.
• Analyze activity, cycle time, demand, supplier, contract, savings, opportunity, adoption, and stakeholder data to identify improvement priorities.
• Maintain transparent, auditable, and repeatable reporting.
• Build trusted relationships across Finance, Legal, IT, Cybersecurity, Facilities, HR, Marketing, Operations, and other business functions.
• Facilitate cross-functional process design, decision-making, issue resolution, and the adoption of new methodologies.
• Communicate process changes and create practical materials detailing requirements, roles, and next steps.
• Support the procurement team with tools, training, standards, and operational guidance.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years in Procurement Operations, Procurement Excellence, Procurement Transformation, Business Operations, Program Management, Strategic Procurement, or related fields.
• Experience in designing, implementing, or enhancing business processes, workflows, operating models, or technology-enabled capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives, process documentation, governance, metrics, and change adoption.
• Strong analytical, project management, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, NetSuite or equivalent ERP, Zip or equivalent procurement workflow platform, Jira or equivalent project management tool, process mapping tools, and business analytics platforms.
• Ability to independently map processes, analyze operational data, create dashboards and executive presentations, develop business cases, manage implementation plans, and translate operational findings into scalable solutions for senior leaders.
• Capability to excel in fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving environments.
• Nice to have: Experience in building or scaling procurement operations, excellence, or transformation capabilities.
• Nice to have: Experience in implementing, configuring, optimizing, or driving adoption of procurement workflow, ERP, reporting, contract, supplier, or intake technologies.
• Nice to have: Experience in developing process maps, SOPs, playbooks, controls, training materials, and change plans.
• Nice to have: Experience in establishing KPI frameworks, service measures, dashboards, and executive reporting.
