Enrollment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Submit applications to carriers for new hire enrollments, open enrollment elections, qualifying life events, plan changes and updates, terminations, and COBRA transitions.

• Gather and provide supplementary documentation as required by carriers.

• Ensure accuracy in enrollments prior to submission.

• Adhere to carrier-specific submission requirements and deadlines.

• Monitor enrollment status using carrier systems.

• Maintain operational relationships with insurance providers.

• Navigate carrier portals and submission platforms efficiently.

• Collaborate with carrier representatives regarding enrollment concerns.

• Conduct post-enrollment validation and confirmation with carriers.

• Verify coverage accuracy throughout the enrollment process.

• Validate plan details and member information.

• Identify and correct discrepancies with carriers.

• Perform compliance audits of enrollment processes.

• Execute quality assurance reviews of processes.

• Follow up on pending applications with carriers.

• Resolve enrollment discrepancies in collaboration with carriers.

• Manage escalations related to enrollment.

• Document and track issues related to enrollment.

• Prevent retroactive corrections through proactive validation measures.

• Ensure the platform accurately reflects any enrollment changes.

• Achieve key performance indicators related to enrollment accuracy, processing times, carrier confirmations, qualifying life events, and open enrollment completions.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• 1-3 years of experience in benefits enrollment, insurance administration, or a related field.

• Experience in the health insurance industry.

• Familiarity with carrier enrollment processes and systems.

• Strong attention to detail to ensure enrollment accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple enrollments with various carriers and deadlines.

• Capability to adhere strictly to carrier-specific requirements.

• Problem-solving skills to address enrollment issues with carriers.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interaction with carriers and internal teams.

• Ability to meet stringent enrollment deadlines.

• Proficiency with various carrier enrollment portals.

• Strong data entry and verification capabilities.

• Excel proficiency for tracking and reporting purposes.

• Understanding of different health insurance plan types and structures.

• Familiarity with the various stages of the enrollment lifecycle.
