
English to Malagasy Language Lead – Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Deliver high-level translation, localization, and linguistic assistance for projects involving the Malagasy language.
• Guarantee linguistic precision, cultural relevance, and contextual accuracy in all outputs.
• Review and refine translations to align with client specifications and quality standards.
• Execute quality control measures and address linguistic challenges, such as terminology consistency and stylistic adherence.
• Oversee Malagasy language projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and quality targets are achieved.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and fellow linguists to fulfill project objectives.
• Offer guidance and support to linguists and junior team members.
• Organize training and development sessions for the team.
• Create and maintain Malagasy language glossaries, style guides, and linguistic resources.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific requirements and language standards.
• Act as a point of contact for linguistic inquiries and client feedback.
• Address and manage client concerns regarding Malagasy language services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Arts, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in translation, localization, or linguistic services.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Language Lead role or as a Senior Linguist.
• Native or near-native fluency in Malagasy.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Knowledge of translation and localization tools, including CAT tools and TMS systems.
• Solid understanding of linguistic quality assurance processes.
• Outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural setting.
• Experience in the localization/translation industry for international clients (preferred).
• Familiarity with Madagascar’s cultural and regional linguistic nuances (preferred).
• Certification in translation or localization tools is a plus (preferred).
• Submission of a resume, cover letter, and portfolio showcasing linguistic expertise and leadership experience.
• Engagement on a freelance basis.
• Additional language skills are advantageous.
