Engineering Team Lead, Managed K8s

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +7 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the engineering team, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, development paths, and feedback.

• Collaborate with the team to design and deploy the Kubernetes control plane.

• Take responsibility for architectural decisions and complex implementations related to scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle management.

• Ensure the reliability of the Kubernetes control plane and handle critical incidents effectively.

• Streamline the process of transitioning from bare-metal to on-demand cluster provisioning through automation.

• Work closely with Product Managers to align on priorities, define initiative scope, and navigate technical/business trade-offs.

• Establish team processes and execution rituals as the team expands.

• Manage the Kubernetes product comprehensively, including support for GPU training, inference, and general-purpose computing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of direct people leadership experience.

• Proven experience in managing engineers, encompassing hiring, coaching, providing candid feedback, and fostering their growth.

• Experience with production systems using Go.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, preferably with hands-on experience in building operators, schedulers, or controllers.

• Solid understanding of Kubernetes internals.

• Direct experience with Linux, beyond just managed services.

• Experience in running GPU workloads on Kubernetes, or the ability to quickly take ownership of that area.

• Background in developing backend or infrastructure systems.

• Proven ability to collaborate with product, design, and business teams to deliver software for actual users.
