Engineering Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage Azure DevOps organizations, projects, teams, repositories, pipelines, boards, area paths, iteration cadences, and access controls.

• Handle Azure DevOps provisioning, permissions, access reviews, platform health, adoption metrics, configuration drift, and incidents related to configuration.

• Govern LaunchDarkly projects, environments, roles, access controls, SDK integrations, APIs, webhooks, and the lifecycle of feature flags.

• Collaborate with release management and Engineering teams on feature-flag configuration, progressive delivery, SDK health, and available resources for enablement.

• Administer Flyway versioning conventions, configure environments, monitor migrations, enforce standards, validate processes, document rollbacks, and automate tasks.

• Manage Cursor and other AI-assisted development tools, including provisioning, licensing, seat allocation, configuration standards, adoption metrics, and resources for enablement.

• Utilize Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI tools for scripting, platform analysis, configuration review, documentation, access reviews, and compliance evidence.

• Maintain, publish, distribute, and oversee Engineering standards documentation and the associated standards repository.

• Monitor adherence to standards, coordinate onboarding materials related to standards, and facilitate standards retrospectives.

• Ensure governance of access controls, provisioning and de-provisioning processes, access reviews, audit records, and security enhancements across the platforms managed.

• Assist with SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST 800-53 audit preparedness.

• Create automation, monitoring, alerting, resources for enablement, and improvements in workflows that minimize administrative burdens.

• Track platform health, adoption metrics, support trends, and compliance with standards for Engineering Systems leadership.

• Lead intricate configurations, cross-platform integrations, large-scale automation projects, contributions to standards, technical mentoring, recommendations for platform architecture, and strategies for AI tooling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in the Dominican Republic.

• Proficient in reading and writing English with strong communication skills.

• An associate degree or equivalent is preferred.

• 2–4 years of experience in Engineering Systems Administration, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Technical Operations within a Software Engineering environment.

• Practical experience with Azure DevOps administration, including project configuration, pipeline management, access control, board structuring, and area path management, sufficient to independently resolve platform configuration challenges.

• Experience managing feature flag platforms, preferably LaunchDarkly, including governance of flag lifecycles, environment management, SDK integration health, and best practices for flag hygiene.

• Familiarity with database migration tools and versioning practices; Flyway experience is strongly preferred, including standards for migration scripts, integration with CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring of migration execution.

• Proven regular use of AI development tools like Cursor or Claude Code in everyday technical tasks, including AI-assisted scripting, platform analysis, or documentation generation.

• Experience in managing access controls and user provisioning across engineering platforms with a solid understanding of least-privilege principles and compliance evidence requirements.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Effective written communication skills for creating precise, usable platform documentation, enablement guides, and configuration records.
