Engineering Manager – Product Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of engineering delivery, planning, estimation, and execution within the product pod.

• Collaborate with the pod owner to examine PRDs, uncover gaps, edge cases, and technical risks prior to the commencement of development.

• Facilitate technical discussions, question assumptions, and validate implementation strategies.

• Ensure predictable delivery while maintaining a balance between speed, quality, and technical debt.

• Uphold engineering best practices, which include code reviews, testing, documentation, observability, security, and adherence to coding standards.

• Guarantee production quality by leading root cause analyses and mitigating recurring issues.

• Mentor engineers, enhance engineering discipline, and cultivate a culture of ownership and accountability.

• Work alongside QA, Design, DevOps, and other teams to eliminate obstacles and ensure successful product releases.

• Conduct technical research for the pod on behalf of the pod owner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• More than 2 years of experience in leading engineering teams or overseeing technical delivery.

• Extensive experience in developing modern Enterprise SaaS products.

• Strong grasp of software architecture and system design principles.

• Familiarity with cloud-native applications, preferably AWS.

• Experience with contemporary development methodologies, including CI/CD and automated testing.

• In-depth understanding of Agile product development processes.

• Proficient in reviewing code and technical designs.

• Exceptional skills in planning, estimation, and delivery management.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Capability to balance business priorities with engineering excellence.

• Preferred: experience in leading cross-functional product teams.

• Preferred: background in high-growth product startups.

• Preferred: knowledge of secure software development practices.

• Preferred: experience in observability, production monitoring, and incident management.

• Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers and technical leads.
