This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the Patient Experience team and establish the technical direction in a complex and evolving field.
• Engage directly in system design, coding, code reviews, prototyping, and addressing challenging technical issues.
• Advance architecture and facilitate design discussions that encompass product, engineering, data, and clinical aspects.
• Support the transformation of patient experiences towards a longitudinal, person-centered care model.
• Develop systems that integrate clinical data, behavioral signals, and real-world patient context.
• Balance speed, quality, reliability, safety, and trust in technical decision-making.
• Provide structure and drive progress in ambiguous situations.
• Set high standards for technical and product excellence.
• Foster an environment that combines psychological safety with accountability.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, collaboration, feedback, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with leaders in Product, Design, Clinical, Data, and Engineering.
• Influence the broader technical direction as Care Mode and patient experiences become integral to the platform.
• Advocate for patient trust, practitioner workflows, and the long-term health of the system.
• Extensive experience in building and leading software products from inception through iteration and large-scale operation.
• Several years of experience in engineering management.
• Dedication to people leadership while maintaining a strong technical presence and involvement in the work.
• Proven history of tackling complex, non-obvious technical challenges with significant product and user impact.
• Experience in constructing and managing high-scale applications.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to articulate the significance of decisions.
• Excellent product instincts and the ability to link engineering decisions to user experience.
• Extensive experience in developing successful consumer-facing web and/or mobile products.
• Experience in creating consumer experiences that promote sustained engagement through timely, relevant, personalized, or context-aware interactions.
• Proficiency with modern AI-assisted engineering workflows and tools.
• Strong instincts regarding responsiveness, fast feedback loops, perceived performance, and intuitive software design.
• Experience designing for users who may feel overwhelmed, disengaged, or uncertain.
• Familiarity with React, React Native, Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo.
• Background in regulated, safety-sensitive, or high-trust domains is preferred.
• A proven track record of elevating quality standards is valued.
• A Bachelor’s degree or other educational credentials are not explicitly required.
