This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the engineering domain of Telematics Technology
• Supervise engineers responsible for deploying, supporting, and operating production systems that convert detailed driving data into risk signals
• Collaborate with Data Science, Pricing, Underwriting, and other stakeholders to define domain strategy
• Establish a long-term vision and quarterly plans for the Telematics Platform and Telematics Experience
• Convert product and data strategies into practical engineering roadmaps
• Balance the delivery of features with the stability of the platform and prioritize technical investments
• Manage and mentor the engineering team
• Promote an environment of mutual trust, open communication, ownership, accountability, and continuous growth
• Identify talent gaps and lead efforts in recruitment, onboarding, and organizational structuring
• Direct the architecture for telematics pipelines, ensuring observability, reliability, and scalability
• Oversee intricate technical projects and apply insights from postmortem analyses
• Enhance development processes to speed up time-to-market
• Advocate for engineering excellence throughout the organization
• Minimum of 6 years in software engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership or engineering management
• Proven experience leading teams through scaling or high-complexity periods
• Capability to convert product, data, and ML roadmap requirements into actionable engineering plans
• Strong technical judgment in building and scaling distributed data pipelines
• In-depth knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Terraform, and serverless architecture
• Demonstrated success in developing engineers at various levels of seniority
• Experience in implementing development practices that balance rapid experimentation with production stability
• Familiarity with build-measure-learn culture, technical debt management, retrospectives, and sprint planning
• Proactive in adopting and integrating AI tools and technologies
• On-camera participation is required for virtual interviews
• Experience in MLOps, data science, telematics/sensor data pipelines, insurance or financial services background, and familiarity with Datadog are advantageous
