Senior Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee several software engineering teams that design and implement features to enhance FloQast’s B2B SaaS products and platforms.

• Manage a blend of people leadership, technical leadership, and management responsibilities.

• Recruit and onboard software engineers and managerial staff.

• Guide and mentor existing software engineering teams to develop high-quality software.

• Work collaboratively with teams, other departments, managers, and senior leadership to foster an engineering culture of excellence.

• Lead, manage, mentor, and support the development of software engineers and engineering managers.

• Collaborate with product managers, QA, architecture, security, and DevOps teams utilizing lean software development, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

• Engage in recruitment and interviewing processes.

• Enhance processes, practices, and culture within the engineering department.

• Advocate for automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps, and lean software development methodologies.

• Foster an environment of innovative, egoless, high-trust problem solving.

• Collaborate with HR, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success on cross-department initiatives.

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering management experience with a proven ability to lead software engineering teams in delivering products to a paying customer base (B2B preferred, B2C or eCommerce acceptable).

• At least 5 years of individual contributor experience as a software engineer, preferably with open source software and platforms.

• More than 5 years of experience working within teams that employ Agile methodologies and iterative processes (Scrum, Kanban, XP) to launch software products.

• Proficient in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for software engineering and management positions.

• Experience in managing and coaching individual contributors and managers through performance reviews, providing guidance and feedback.

• Skilled in managing multiple software engineering teams concurrently, including oversight of managers leading those teams.

• Proven experience leading and managing remote and geographically distributed teams.

• A positive, enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.

• Experience working on SaaS products with actual paying customers.

• Practical experience with MongoDB, Express, React, and Node (MERN).

• Familiarity with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructures.
