Engineering Manager, Ecommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead a cross-functional Product Engineering team focused on payment processes.

• Serve as a technical expert within Fullscript’s engineering organization for payment-related choices.

• Take ownership of the entire checkout experience, from cart through to confirmation.

• Design and maintain integrations with payment processing solutions like Stripe.

• Develop and enhance connections to financial systems and fulfillment platforms.

• Ensure that payment processes are secure, auditable, and highly dependable.

• Balance the delivery of features with the operational rigor necessary for revenue-critical systems.

• Handle revenue-critical systems with the appropriate care and diligence.

• Build for observability and maintain an understanding of every step in the process.

• Recognize the business implications of outages, bugs, and diminished performance.

• Oversee the entire lifecycle from design to production operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading ecommerce or transaction-critical systems.

• Familiarity with payment integrations such as Stripe or equivalent platforms.

• Strong technical knowledge and product judgment across architecture, system design, reliability, scalability, and technical trade-offs.

• Experience in planning and executing platform modernizations or significant refactors within production systems.

• Background in directly managing engineers, with a focus on coaching, performance management, and career development.

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with finance and operations stakeholders.
