This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the engineering team focused on Data Transformation.
• Collaborate effectively with infrastructure and product engineering teams.
• Enhance the Data Transformation roadmap and its adoption within Stripe.
• Spearhead critical workstreams that deliver high-quality materialized datasets for Stripe's products and AI agents.
• Provide infrastructure and services that scale efficiently and reliably.
• Mentor, guide, and support fellow engineers.
• Assist in high-visibility infrastructure engineering initiatives and engage with stakeholders.
• Comprehend user requirements and prioritize engineering tasks accordingly.
• Oversee projects from their inception to completion while ensuring quality and punctuality.
• Offer hands-on technical leadership in areas such as architecture, design, vision, direction, requirements setting, and incident response.
• Develop the long-term Data Transformation roadmap in collaboration with company leadership.
• Promote collaboration, inclusivity, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Work with recruiting to attract and hire talent, as well as to define hiring strategies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams that have successfully shipped and operated data pipelines and critical distributed system infrastructure.
• Proven track record in recruiting and building high-performing teams.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and dedication to partnerships with other Stripe engineers.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, think rigorously, communicate clearly, and make or coordinate challenging decisions and trade-offs.
• Capability to excel with a high level of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous setting.
• Technical expertise to provide clarity to staff engineers regarding architecture and strategic technical decisions.
• Ability to foster a healthy and inclusive work environment.
• Preferred: experience with technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow, Python, SQL, and API design.
