Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of engineers.

• Oversee, coach, and mentor a group of 4 software engineers.

• Provide constructive performance feedback and facilitate career development.

• Establish and enhance software development practices, operational efficiency, and delivery processes.

• Collaborate with Engineering leadership on departmental strategy and address team-wide inefficiencies.

• Drive management initiatives across Engineering and Technology, encompassing hiring, career progression, policies, and budget management.

• Support Engineering-wide guilds, projects, and activities.

• Work in partnership with Product Management, Product Design, Marketing, other pods, and cross-functional teams.

• Lead the successful development and execution of pod projects and operations.

• Advocate for Teachable’s values and foster a culture of diversity within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• 1 to 2 years of combined experience in technical leadership or people management.

• Strong project management skills.

• Proven track record of making trade-offs to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and in alignment with business objectives.

• Experience in leading technical initiatives across various teams or domains.

• Capability to make advancements in situations of ambiguity and with minimal guidance.

• Demonstrated ability to foster continuous improvement and ownership within teams.

• Experience in mentoring individual contributors across various seniority levels and specializations.

• Background in recruiting, hiring, and leading diverse engineering teams.
