Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, mentor, and nurture a team of software engineers through regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career advancement strategies.

• Collaborate with product management to strategize, prioritize, and ensure timely delivery of team roadmaps.

• Steer technical decision-making within the team, guaranteeing robust architecture, high code quality, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Cultivate a positive team culture founded on collaboration, accountability, and ongoing improvement.

• Take charge of team recruitment, onboarding, and staffing strategies in collaboration with the recruiting team.

• Detect and eliminate obstacles, manage risks, and clearly communicate status updates to stakeholders and leadership.

• Engage in incident response and conduct post-incident reviews for challenges impacting the team's systems.

• Contribute to wider engineering organizational initiatives, including process enhancements and cross-team standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a formal management capacity.

• Proven track record of leading a team throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

• Strong technical expertise adequate to direct architecture and code quality decisions.

• Experience in managing performance, delivering feedback, and aiding career growth for direct reports.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, and business sectors.

• Ability to navigate competing priorities and deliver according to roadmaps in a dynamic environment.
