Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct individual meetings with all developers, offering feedback and fostering each individual’s growth.

• Take ownership of the team’s delivery by coordinating weekly with Product Managers and ensuring that agreed deliverables are accomplished.

• Oversee the entire performance process, which includes managing improvement plans and terminations when required.

• Guarantee that pull requests are reviewed promptly and meet high standards.

• Guide the team in leveraging AI by defining specifications, delegating tasks to agents, testing, and assessing outcomes.

• Maintain the smooth operation of existing projects while simultaneously advancing new products.

• Engage in the hiring process and supervise the onboarding of new developers.

• Dedicate around 30% of your time to coding, reviewing pull requests, and programming as necessary.

• Provide weekly reports to the CEO.

• Proven experience in leading development teams, with a history of fostering individual growth.

• Significant prior experience as a software developer and a passion for continued coding.

• Ability to make tough decisions regarding personnel matters with maturity.

• Daily engagement with AI in software development, coupled with a personal methodology for ensuring reliable results.

• A specification-first approach, with agents executing tasks, followed by testing and final evaluations.

• Practical experience with Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.

• Effective communication skills with Product, Marketing, and leadership teams.

• A product-focused mindset and results-driven approach.

• Experience with subscription products, SaaS, or high-volume B2C products is advantageous.

• Background in dating apps, startups, or fast-paced environments is a plus.

• Experience in implementing AI within the development workflow of an entire team is a bonus.
