Engineering Lead – Content Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Act as the Engineering Lead for the CONT team within the Search domain.

• Foster leadership within the team, cultivating a trusting, transparent, and accountable work environment.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to share responsibility for delivery, strategic vision, and quality assurance.

• Maintain focus, minimize context switching, and enhance processes and time to market.

• Continuously refine technical standards and architectural frameworks.

• Develop clear decision-making processes, encourage ownership, and expedite team decisions.

• Ensure alignment with other teams and overarching business goals.

• Assist engineers in their professional growth and development.

• Oversee performance management and recruitment efforts.

• Collaborate closely with Agile Coaches, Staff Engineers, and Heads of Engineering.

• Contribute to the development of content management infrastructure and systems, as well as content delivery for the shop and app, and the automation of content maintenance workflows.

• Actively participate in software development as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven leadership experience.

• Several years of practical software engineering experience in complex system environments.

• Preferably experienced in Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, especially Domain-driven Design.

• Experience in implementing software architecture in production, setting technical standards, and guiding architectural choices.

• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and contemporary CI/CD practices.

• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL in production settings.

• Willingness to embrace AI-assisted engineering practices; hands-on experience is advantageous.

• Clear, solution-focused, and effective communication skills.

• Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.

• Proficient in German, with at least C1 level proficiency.

• Capability to recognize and influence team dynamics, promoting a culture of open feedback and learning from mistakes.
