Engineering Lead – Content Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead the CONT team within the Search domain.

• Cultivate a trustworthy environment that ensures consistent, high-quality software delivery at a reliable pace.

• Integrate engineering and people leadership duties while actively participating in development tasks.

• Share accountability with the Product Owner for delivery, direction, and quality assurance.

• Establish focus, minimize context switching, and continuously enhance processes and time to market.

• Steer the sustainable advancement of technical standards and architectures.

• Encourage autonomy, ownership, and swift decision-making within the team.

• Ensure alignment with other teams and business goals.

• Champion the team’s interests and development while promoting engagement and accountability.

• Assist engineers in their professional growth.

• Assume responsibility for performance management and recruitment.

• Collaborate with Agile Coaches, Staff Engineers, and Heads of Engineering to enhance the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership position.

• Several years of hands-on software engineering experience in complex system environments.

• Ideally, familiarity with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, especially Domain-Driven Design.

• Experience in implementing software architecture in production settings.

• Proven track record of establishing technical standards and influencing architectural decisions.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.

• Understanding of containerization with Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Knowledge of contemporary CI/CD practices.

• Experience with databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL in production environments.

• Willingness to embrace AI-assisted engineering practices; practical experience is an advantage.

• Proficient command of German, at least CEFR level C1.
