Engineering Intern – Electrical/Computer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Engage in a compensated 10-week summer internship at Palo Verde from May to July.

• Undertake significant individual and collaborative engineering projects.

• Execute basic to intermediate engineering analyses and designs.

• Support the development of business and engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, and studies.

• Assist with research, business documentation, studies, and technical assessments.

• Conduct analyses, investigations, and verifications.

• Compile results and findings into written reports or deliver oral presentations.

• Acquire knowledge of business and engineering operations and functions using internal resources.

• Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to meet project objectives and assignments.

• Present summer project outcomes to the Engineer Senior Leadership Team.

• Perform other related responsibilities as necessary.

• Support Emergency Response Organization activities and assist during refueling or short-notice outages when required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in an engineering discipline or a related applied science field.

• Acceptable engineering degrees include Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, and Structural.

• Demonstrate consistent academic achievement in relevant fields of study and training.

• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2.

• Actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related applied science discipline.

• Possess knowledge and the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles, practices, and theories.

• Capable of utilizing commonly applied engineering methodologies and calculations.

• Proficient in problem analysis and resolution techniques.

• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, practices, methods, and safety regulations in the applicable engineering field.

• For roles at Palo Verde Generating Stations, candidates must be a U.S. person.

• Must verify U.S. person or non-U.S. person status.

• Compliance with Emergency Response Organization and refueling or short-notice outage obligations is a condition of employment at PVGS.
