Engineering Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement OpenText Extended ECM for Engineering solutions that facilitate engineering document management, project execution, and asset lifecycle processes.

• Create and configure state-based workflows to streamline document reviews, approvals, and change management procedures.

• Offer expertise in content repository setup, metadata management, security frameworks, and scalability.

• Foster secure collaboration between internal engineering teams and external partners using Business Workspaces and secure file-sharing tools.

• Track system performance, workflow efficiency, and project progression through dashboards and analytics.

• Suggest enhancements based on performance metrics and workflow evaluations.

• Generate technical documentation.

• Conduct training sessions for end-users and IT teams on system functionalities and best practices.

• Work directly with engineers across various functional areas.

• Act as the main point of contact between the engineering team and the OpenText support team.

• Report to the Director of Delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in supporting enterprise ECM platforms.

• 5+ years of direct experience with OpenText Content Server AMS/support.

• Familiarity with AMS or managed services environments, including ticketing systems and SLAs.

• Experience in supporting OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) or SAP-integrated environments.

• Background in supporting OpenText Archive Center, Core Capture, or VIM.

• Knowledge of authentication/SSO integrations (LDAP, AD, SAML).

• OpenText certifications are advantageous.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of experience with OpenText ECM solutions, encompassing Content Server and Extended ECM.

• Required experience with xECM for Engineering version 22 or above.

• 3+ years of experience in engineering document management or asset lifecycle processes.

• In-depth knowledge of OpenText Content Server architecture, including repository configuration, workflow design, and Smart UI customization.

• Skilled in Web Reports for custom development and reporting.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication abilities for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Preferred: OpenText certifications (e.g., OpenText Content Server Administrator, Extended ECM Specialist).

• Preferred: Experience in industries such as energy, manufacturing, or construction.

• Preferred: Understanding of security standards (e.g., TLS/SSL, AES-256) and compliance frameworks.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Scaled Agile methodologies.

• Must be available from 9am to 5pm EST on all US working days.

• Must be able to pass Federal background checks as mandated by NERC/FERC regulations.
