This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling equipment, and related plant at various customer locations.
• Offer expert engineering advice to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Operate independently within an assigned region.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with customers.
• Oversee a personal inspection schedule.
• Collaborate with seasoned Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders.
• Engage in ongoing technical training, development, and induction programs.
• Execute inspections in industrial, commercial, and construction settings.
• Work at heights and access operational environments as necessary.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting equipment, or similar mechanical plants.
• Experience acquired in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection environments.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools.
• Enthusiastic about engineering with a commitment to upholding high safety and quality standards.
• Customer-oriented with the capacity to form robust professional relationships.
• Capable of working autonomously and effectively managing your own tasks and priorities.
• A practical problem solver who can make informed decisions in diverse situations.
• Confident in conveying technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Organized, self-driven, and adaptable in a field-based setting.
• Able to visit customer sites and conduct inspections in various working conditions.
• Dedicated to continuously enhancing knowledge and skills in engineering inspection.
• Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor (desirable).
• Familiarity with LOLER, PUWER, and related lifting equipment laws, regulations, and industry standards (desirable).
• Experience in conducting statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments (desirable).
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or actively working towards professional registration (desirable).
• Experience with a wide range of lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling equipment, or other industrial plants (desirable).
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction equipment (desirable).
• Responsible usage of Artificial Intelligence (desirable).
