This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling equipment, and related plant at customer locations.
• Offer expert engineering advice to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Operate independently within an assigned area while managing an inspection timetable.
• Foster and maintain robust customer relationships.
• Execute inspections in industrial, commercial, and construction settings.
• Work at heights and access operational areas as necessary.
• Engage in ongoing technical training, induction, and development.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting equipment, or similar mechanical machinery.
• Experience acquired in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection environments.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools.
• Enthusiastic about engineering and dedicated to upholding high safety and quality standards.
• Customer-oriented with the capability to cultivate strong professional relationships.
• Capable of working independently and effectively prioritizing your workload.
• A practical problem solver who can make informed decisions in various situations.
• Confident in conveying technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Organized, self-driven, and adaptable within a field-based setting.
• Able to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, including visiting customer sites and performing inspections across diverse working environments.
• Committed to the continuous enhancement of knowledge and expertise in engineering inspection.
• Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor (desirable).
• Awareness of LOLER, PUWER, and related lifting equipment legislation, regulations, and industry standards (desirable).
• Experience conducting statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments (desirable).
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or actively pursuing professional registration (desirable).
• Experience with a wide range of lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling equipment, or other industrial machinery (desirable).
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction equipment (desirable).
• Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (desirable).
