This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling machinery, and related plant.
• Examine equipment at various industrial, commercial, and construction sites.
• Offer expert engineering advice to ensure safe and legally compliant operations.
• Operate independently within a designated area.
• Cultivate and uphold strong relationships with customers.
• Oversee a personal inspection schedule.
• Collaborate with seasoned Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders.
• Engage in technical development, onboarding, and training initiatives.
• Execute practical inspections in diverse operational settings, including tasks at elevated heights.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting tools, or comparable mechanical machinery.
• Experience acquired in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection contexts.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting systems.
• Enthusiastic about engineering and dedicated to upholding high standards of safety and quality.
• Customer-oriented with the ability to forge robust professional relationships.
• Capable of working independently and efficiently managing workload and priorities.
• Practical problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
• Able to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing.
• Organized, self-driven, and adaptable in a field environment.
• Willing to visit customer locations and conduct inspections in varied working conditions.
• Committed to ongoing professional development.
• Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor is advantageous.
• Familiarity with LOLER, PUWER, and relevant lifting equipment legislation, regulations, and industry standards is a plus.
• Experience in performing statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments is desirable.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or progress toward professional registration is preferred.
• Experience with lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling machinery, or industrial plant is advantageous.
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction machinery is beneficial.
• Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
