This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling equipment, and related machinery at customer locations.
• Offer expert advice to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Operate independently within a designated area.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers.
• Oversee a personal inspection schedule.
• Execute inspections in industrial, commercial, and construction settings.
• Work at heights and access operational areas as necessary.
• Engage in induction, training, and ongoing technical development.
• Collaborate with experienced Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting equipment, or similar mechanical machinery.
• Background in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection environments.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting systems.
• Prior experience as an Engineer Surveyor (preferred).
• Familiarity with LOLER, PUWER, and relevant lifting equipment legislation, regulations, and industry standards (preferred).
• Experience in conducting statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments (preferred).
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or actively pursuing professional registration (preferred).
• Experience with a wide variety of lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling equipment, or other industrial machinery (preferred).
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction machinery (preferred).
• Knowledge of responsible Artificial Intelligence usage (preferred).
• Capability to visit customer sites and perform inspections in diverse working environments.
• Dedication to continually enhancing engineering inspection knowledge and expertise.
