This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting apparatus, materials handling equipment, and related machinery at customer locations.
• Offer specialized engineering advice to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Operate independently within a designated area.
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers.
• Oversee an inspection timetable and manage workload efficiently.
• Conduct inspections in industrial, commercial, and construction settings.
• Work at heights and access diverse operational environments as necessary.
• Collaborate with experienced Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders.
• Complete ongoing technical training, development, and induction programs.
• A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting devices, or similar mechanical systems.
• Experience acquired in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection settings.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools.
• Enthusiastic about engineering and dedicated to upholding high safety and quality standards.
• Customer-oriented with the capability to establish solid professional relationships.
• Capable of working independently while effectively managing workload and priorities.
• Practical problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capabilities.
• Able to convey technical information clearly, both verbally and in written form.
• Organized, self-driven, and adaptable in a field-based role.
• Willing to visit customer sites and perform inspections across various working conditions.
• Committed to the continuous enhancement of engineering inspection knowledge and skills.
• Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor is an advantage.
• Familiarity with LOLER, PUWER, and relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards is preferred.
• Experience in conducting statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments is desirable.
• Holding or working towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status is a plus.
• Experience with lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling apparatus, or industrial machinery is beneficial.
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction equipment is advantageous.
• Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence is preferred.
